Survey Question Examples

What are 5 open-ended questions?

Five worth using: what motivated the search for a solution, how they'd describe the experience, the most valuable part, difficulties encountered, and advice for improving.

  1. 1. What motivated you to look for a solution?
  2. 2. How would you describe your experience with our product?
  3. 3. What was the most valuable part of the experience?
  4. 4. What difficulties or frustrations did you encounter?
  5. 5. What advice would you give us for improving the product?

None of these can be answered with a flat "yes" or "no" - that's the point. They get people explaining their thinking, which is often where the real insight is: the language customers use naturally, issues you didn't know existed, and the reasoning behind whatever your rating scores are telling you. Just be careful with wording - "How much did you enjoy our excellent service?" is leading; "How would you describe your experience with our service?" isn't.
