Survey Question Examples

What are three open-ended questions to ask customers?

Three that hold up well: what customers liked most, what could have been done better, and what challenges they ran into using the product or service.

  1. 1. What did you like most about your experience with us?
  2. 2. What could we have done better?
  3. 3. Can you describe any challenges you experienced while using our product or service?

These let people answer in their own words rather than pick from a menu of options, which is exactly why they're useful - they surface problems and ideas a rating scale would never catch. They work especially well in interviews, feedback forms, post - purchase surveys, and product research. Give enough context so people know what you're asking, don't stack multiple questions into one, and if you're doing this live, follow up with something like "can you tell me more about that?"
